Abstract

Radicalism is a belief or a form of expression of the belief that there must be extreme social or political change. It is even more dangerous that radicalism has entered the world of education. From the data released by LP3M University of Jember, as many as 22% of its students are exposed to radicalism. In fact, it can spread to other educational institutions such as schools. Therefore, the role of parents, especially mothers, must be able to protect the nation's next generation so they don't lose their way. Against this background, one of the Sumbersari Mother School (MoSS) curricula discusses counteracting radicalism at home to its target members. The aims of this study were: (1) to find out the MoSS strategy in counteracting radicalism at home, (2) to find out the benefits of MoSS learning in counteracting radicalism at home. This research data collection methods are observation, interviews, and documentation. The strategy used by MoSS is to work with related parties who are competent in the field of radicalism, from the police to community leaders who are former followers of radicalism. The material provided includes: factors, forms, characteristics, and stages, as well as strategies to counteract radicalism. As feedback on the success of learning, a simulation was held for members. The benefits of learning for MoSS members are increasing religious, societal and national insights, as well as how to counteract radicalism at home.
